Nokia E50

Firmware: V 06.27.1.0 10-07-2006 RM-171 Nokia E50

One of the first Symbian OS 9.X phones, this phone's processor was a little underwhelming, and it was pre-3G so download speeds are a bit slow, but overall it was sleek and solid.

This phone doesn't suck.

Michael's stuff

These days I'm really into Subaru's. The WRX is the perfect sleeper car, no?

I'm not really into modifications, so this one is in stock form (which is good enough for this car!). I am the 3rd owner and it has always had its services done at a Subaru dealer.

Recent work: Replaced brake pads at all four wheels, and new front brake disks.

Toshiba Satellite M60-132

This was a widescreen 17" laptop we bought for my wife to replace her older Toshiba. She was very happy with the older Toshiba -- it was still working fine and passed on to her nephew simply because processor and hard-drive technology had moved on.

Unfortunately the M60-132 was a big disappointment. The keyboard was quite bad and had difficulties with several keys missing -- frequent cleaning helped a bit. The computer had weird issues where it would simply beep loudly for no reason from time to time. Very recently the LCD developed a vertical green line right through the middle.

SonyEricsson W880i

Firmware: R1JC002 JP-7.3

This phone was one of the first great SonyEricsson feature phones with SonyEricsson's new JP-X software stack. Slim and works great.

The keypad is a little annoying but workable.

This phone doesn't suck, unless you get a Vodfone UK-crippled one that has root certificates removed and so won't install 3rd party software.

IBM ThinkPad A31p

This was a great, solid laptop that served me without problems for many years.

I finally replaced it because the state of the art had moved on -- faster processors, faster hard drives.

I still have this lying around somewhere.
